Presented here is an original
contestant's medal from the 1926 U.S. Women's Amateur. This contestant's medal
is in phenomenal condition, and still contains the original celluloid #6 clipped
on back, which means it was issued to player #6 at the 1926 U.S. Women's
Amateur. Helen Stetson was the victory this year. Surely, a finer example of
this rare contestant's badge does not likely exist.
UPDATE: The 2006 GilChrist's Guide to Golf Collectibles
lists this medal at $1,250, and that likely assumes that the medal would not
actually come with the original celluloid piece still attached.
