1963 British Open Contestant's Badge (Max
Faulkner)
Presented here is a rare
Contestant's Badge from the 1963 British Open, which is the very first year that
the silver and blue contestant's badges were ever used. Since British Open
Contestant's Badges aren't named or numbered (like recent Masters and US Open
Contestant's badges), it is seldom known which player they come from. With
this badge, however, we do know - it was issued to and used by 1951 British Open
Champion Max Faulkner. This badge comes with the added provenance that it
was sold with the rest of Max Faulkner's collection in the July 1995 Sothebys
auction. The badge is in great condition, as can be seen in the photo.
