Walter
Hagen is one of the greatest champions golf has ever known. 11 Major
Championships are often attributed to Hagen, but that number is highly unfair -
it only counts 3 Majors - the U.S. Open, British Open and PGA Championship.
The Masters Tournament was only formed towards the end of Hagen's career (and 5
years after his last Major Championship victory). However, Walter Hagen
did win the Western Open 5 times, which was widely considered a Major
Championship in that time. Regardless, Walter Hagen was clearly one of the
greatest to ever play the game.
Hagen was born in 1892 and died in 1969. Presented here is an incredible
autograph of Walter Hagen from 1958. Apparently taken from the signature
page of a book, this signature is beautifully signed "Golfingly, Walter Hagen,
1958." Authentic Walter Hagen signatures are nearly impossible to find.
And surely they don't get much better than this...
