1938 U.S. Open Program - Signed by Bobby
Jones and Horton Smith
Presented here is an authentic 1938 U.S. Open Program. Any 1938 U.S. Open
Program is exceedingly rare, as unsigned versions are valued at $1,250 in the
2004 edition of Gilchrist's Guider to Golf Collectibles; but presented
here is what must certainly be the finest 1938 U.S. Open Program in existence.
This program has been signed on the cover by Bobby Jones and 1934 and 1936
Masters Champion Horton Smith. Another interesting autograph, which is
located directly beneath Bobby Jones, is that of Grantland Rice, the famous
sportwriter who passed away in 1954. Also signed by Lawson Little, Mike Turnesa, Helen Hicks and a Hollywood heavyweight William Frawley of Fred Mertz fame, a VERY tough signature.
